School Environment and Children's Health
The SEARCH II project in educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan
As children spend a large proportion of their time inside school buildings, it is important for school managers and policy makers to provide appropriate learning environments and to minimise the risks associated with school indoor air quality. Central Asian states are making great efforts to improve the health of schoolchildren by developing new state programmes, promoting physical education and ensuring good nutrition. The Republics of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan also participated in the second phase of the SEARCH project. This publication describes the project and the implementation process in Central Asia. It is aimed at all those interested in providing a safe and supportive environment for children.
